Di calice in collina
is a refined historical-artistic enogastronomic tour in the heart of Monferrato that will let you discover the excellence of the Unesco hills, in an extraordinary fusion of flavors and history. And it will lead you deep into the tradition of a territory with a secular vocation.
The Cantina Maranzana will be pleased to offer tastings of DOC and DOCG wines of own production, with a buffet of typical products, and a guided tour of the structure and a walk through the vineyards. The foreign clientele will be welcomed by our staff, in English and German. Reservation is required. Busses and campers can park in the parking in front of the winery.
We will also be happy to accompany you through the streets of the Maranzana village to admire the historic buildings and stroll along the l' Dolls Itinerary (www.ilpaesedeibabaci.it), craft dolls that tell the story, the uses and customs of the place. Hiking enthusiasts can walk the Pope's Path, a path that starts from the central square of the village, crosses the surrounding vineyards and reaches the statue of Pope John XXIII, in the Nature Reserve "Bosco delle Sorti", where you can stop for a pick-nick at the Casotto delle ginestre (brooms cottage). Finally, to all gourmets, we propose the experience of searching for white truffles at one of the local truffles place. In addition, it is also possible to visit the House Museum of the explorer Giacomo Bove, discoverer of the legendary North-East Passage.
For those wishing to expand the tour, we recommend visiting the city of Acqui Terme, with its thermal springs and ancient Roman remains.
For those who want to taste Piedmontese home cooking, we recommend the Agriturismo "Ma che bel Castello", located in the castle of Maranzana.
We will be happy to adapt the program to suit your needs.
